Most european companies also require that you have the right to live and work in the european union and that you have a JAR or JAR member state license.
With regard to the earlier question on converting from an FAA ATP, then as it stands you do have to do the exams and the flight training, however if you have more than 500 hrs on multipilot type then this rating can be endorsed on your JAR license without you having to do an approved type rating course and you you open your JAR ATPL with this as your first multi pilot type. You will still have to do an MCC course though...Mad I know.. but thats' life!
