A320 Realistic Time/Cost for Type Rating
An A320 Type Rating school in the US (SimCorp) is offering an initial A320 type rating with the following:
Initial w/o Previous Experience 80 hrs of Ground School - includes:
Is this a realistic amount of time to complete an initial A320 type rating? I've heard it taking experienced pilots up to 50 hours in the A320 sim to get a grip on things... These guys are offering 30 plus 12 hours of procedures training (am not even sure if that's done in a sim). |
Seems reasonable to me, but I have only been 737 in the main; I did do a BAC1-11 in '97 with 28hr sim and 40min on the A/C...db16

"Level C" I am not sure about that. Type ratings have to be carried out in full motion Level D simulators to the best of my knowledge. I would double check that with the Caa and the school to be safe.
