Hi all,
I am curious to know if anyone else is applying or has applied for the Easyjet MPL course? I am through to the 2nd stage which is the aptitude and personality test and have my assessment next week (Remotely). Has anyone else completed this yet?

Alelo 10th Mar 2022 09:08

Applied and did it a couple of weeks ago.

Just did the stage 3 interview and waiting on the result of that.

the process was the okay and to be honest if you buy the symbiotics assessments the format is almost identical in the maths and physics questions although it’s a bit of a scam as they don’t tell you how you work out the answers and you buy 5 tests but they are all the same.

Completed stage 2 around a month ago, Didn't purchase any symbiotics assessments (seemed very expensive) or CAE material and in all honesty did very little preparation, it wasn't particularly challenging. What drained me the most was the FAST multi tasking exercise at the end.

Personality tests were as expected, I've answered questions like that hundreds of times before, nothing out of the ordinary.

Got an email the next day inviting me to stage 3. Completed that recently, thankfully all my preparation paid off and I received an email informing me I had been offered a place on the MPL course.

Funky Buddha 13th Mar 2022 16:57

Hi jb53, congratulations on being offered a place on the MPL course! That is fantastic news.
Regarding stage 2, I bought the ADAPT practice exams (As recommended) and was disappointed to realise that the practise exams for each module (Maths, Physics, Cognitive, FAST) are identical and you just get the chance to repeat them over and over again. Whilst I don't find that aspect very productive or helpful (Especially for the price) it has at least got me used to the format of the exams and what to expect.
A couple of questions (jb53 or Alelo):
Regarding stage 3, is the interview completed remotely? If not, where is it located? I assume there is a team building exercise too? Any information on Stage 3 would be very useful. Thank you!

Stage 3 Generation Easyjet

Hello everyone,

Could anyone who has already done the stage 3 for the Generation Easyjet share his experience with us eventually ? How long does the individual interview take ? What are the questions ? etc...

Thank you so much in advance !

First 2 stages are online?

Funky Buddha 20th Mar 2022 16:03

Good news. I have got through to Stage 3.
Stage 3 is virtual (Like Stage 2) and will involve a group activity and interview.
CAE have provided lots of useful information to explain the process within the invitation.
Any tips/advice from those who have already been through the process more than welcome! Thanks!

Did my stage 3 last Thursday, got an email the following morning to say I'd passed! Very excited, counting down the weeks until course starts!

Funky_Buddha and TheHF: yes stage 3 is remote. You get a presentation from easyJet (up to 1h), with more info about the course, easyJet etc. You then get split into groups of 6 for a group exercise (they assess up to 12 candidates per day, so two groups of 6). They did ask us not to give details of what the exercise we did was, but it's just an opportunity to demonstrate how you work in a group, and they're more interested in how you all do the exercise than what the end result is.

You then have an interview later in the day - mine was at 3pm so I had a fair gap after the group exercise to do some final prep. The interview will normally be 50-60 mins, and mine was with a current easyJet captain (so no bullsh*ting your way through like you might be able to with someone from HR). It was divided into two parts, motivation and competency. Motivation covers why you want to be a pilot for easyJet, your knowledge of the company, and the airline industry. Competency is mostly "Give an example of a time when you did xxxx".

For motivation, the only way to do that is plenty of prep. Make sure you know easyJet as a company well, and know what's going on in commercial aviation currently, that kind of stuff. For competency, have a look at the 8 pilot competencies (I can't post links but just google it). You can ignore 2,3, and 6 in the list as those are more for qualified pilots, and think of some examples from work/university/hobbies/etc that show you doing those things. They like specific examples, so have a think along those lines.

Good luck to those of you still to do your stage 3!

Signing onto the course

Juicy_Possum;

Hey man, i did my stage 3 last Wednesday too. I passed also. I got an email from CAE saying what i need to do next and reply if I have any questions.

Well its been a week and I've had no reply and they aren't answering calls. Have you managed to speak to CAE much since finding out you had passed?

I still haven't even confirmed what date I'll be starting let alone receiving any documents etc...

Kind regards
Dean

Juicy_Possum: Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this information and congratulations on getting through. I hope to be there with you!
I have lots of preparation to do first though and I have a few weeks before my stage 3 assessment!
A couple of questions:
  • You mention that an Easyjet Captain was present during your interview. Was anyone else there on the video call? (e.g. from EasyJet HR, CAE or Symbiotics?)
  • Also, have CAE mentioned when the MPL program starts? I presume we will all start at the same time for the UK CAA course?

Hey everyone ! Anyone got their stage 3 on the 27th of April ?

Maverick97 4th Apr 2022 14:27

So it looks like they’re hiring cadets who will join the line in approx 18-24 months time. I recall modular students who completed their MCC with CTC/ L3 (AQC course) pre-covid being offered interviews to then join EasyJet. However, CAE seem to have removed all of their modular flight training options from their website besides Oz. I’d be interested if a similar scheme/ process becomes available further down the line.

It’s good to see BA openly recognise Modular Students with their ‘Newly Qualified Pilot Pathway’.

Result of stage 3 5th May?

Does anyone got their result for stage 3 conducted on 5th May?

Contact Approach 6th May 2022 19:07

i feel desperately for those who graduated from this scheme prior to covid and remain unemployed. its just not right to reopen this when theres many the airline could take back in an instant. Proceed with extreme caution.

Funky Buddha 9th May 2022 08:15

Hi everyone,
I found out that I passed the stage 3 assessment and I have been notified that "a training advisor will be in touch shortly to discuss your next steps". (It took about 1.5 days for the result to come through via email after the assessment was completed)
I am over the moon right now although I realise this is just the start and there is a lot of hard work ahead!
I understand there are 3 course start dates this year: May, July and September. I would like to start in September but I believe this course is now full. Hopefully I don't have to wait until 2023.
For those that also got through, how long did it take before CAE began contacting you to "discuss your next steps"?

MikeKilo2 10th May 2022 10:25

Oh dear.. please do your research on this scheme. We were all dumped during the pandemic on a license that limits you to fly for one airline. The chaos that followed still hasn’t been cleaned up by those who caused it, yet recruitment has re-opened for fresh cadets.

Wasn’t the letter that circulated online asking for £185k to get out of the scheme enough to put anyone off. Please save your money, nobody needs to go through the financial stress that we did. Lessons need to be learnt.
