Thanks for the heads up.

Any idea on roughly how many applications are sent each year?

Ram91 27th Mar 2012 18:56

When can we expect to hear back about PPL Scholarship applications please?

flyboy1818 29th Mar 2012 22:52

43 applications last year for the FI, 5 scholarships awarded, thats some good odds!

Kristoff 3rd Apr 2012 12:35

I submitted an application for the PPL, looking forward to hear from them. Ram, what was you your application like.

Delta106 5th Apr 2012 09:38

I also submitted an application for the PPL Scholarship!! Can't wait to hear back!! Once (and if!) I get anything back, whether E-mail or letter, I'll let you guys know!!
What did you guys put for the flying experience part? I put 6 hours training down, surely this wouldn't preclude me from getting an interview would it??

Kristoff 7th Apr 2012 13:51

Yea, ill keep you guys updated if I get an email from them. Good luck Delta.

ps. I put down 0 hours but since then I have logged 3, where are you from ?

Ram91 7th Apr 2012 15:31

It was not too bad mate, I thought it was really hard answering the questions in under 100 words!! I've got 15 hours logged with 1.15 hours solo. I've heard it's really tough so fingers crossed. Good luck everyone

ruh91 10th Apr 2012 11:50

hi guys,

Anyone heard any replies from Gapan?

Delta106 11th Apr 2012 11:11

Nothing heard yet! However, I looked at the GAPAN website yesterday and it said something like 400 applications have been recieved most of a very high standard, and the "sifting" process had begun! It said all correspondence would be via email and we'd find out by 18th April by the latest!! Be sure to check your junk mail folder people, and Good luck!! :D

I just received a reply (not shortlisted, unfortunately). Good luck to the rest of you.

captain.weird 11th Apr 2012 13:51

Got the bad news..

It was my second attempt with a very strong and good motivation letter..

I don't think I will apply again..

Now working hard to save every penny for a PPL..

ruh91 11th Apr 2012 14:41

Just good the bad news aswel. It was my first time applying. If you dont mind me asking what advice did GAPAN give you?

Kristoff 13th Apr 2012 06:45

Same story here, didn't make it, well done to those who did.

captain.weird 13th Apr 2012 07:15

Advice?

They wish me success to become an airline pilot :)

Not really an advice though ;)

Kristoff 13th Apr 2012 10:59

I'll ask for feedback, hope it doesn't take too long for them to get back.

EK4457 15th Apr 2012 18:57

spicejetter,

I can guarantee you from personal experience that you are talking bollocks.

Where are you getting your information from?

Kristoff 16th Apr 2012 07:58

Ekk,

I'd have to agree with you.

Spicejetter, from what I've read and researched about GAPAN, it seems that they would be more willing to provide those without the means of acquiring licenses with a scholarship.

GAPAN will assess your class and social status
Does the software used have 'superannuated class warrior ****' box in the social status question?
