Restriced CPL

Hi

What is a restricted CPL? Are the restrictions based on not being able to get a full class 1 medical, (or for some other reason), and will it exist under EASA?

Thanks

The meaning could be anything.

Medical:
number of flying hours etc.

i.e you can issue a JAA CPL licence with only 200 hours. If you want to fly commercially on a single man crew you have to have 500hrs Total time.

If you add you have an instrument rating this cancels out the 500 hrs. But having 200hrs with an instrument rating you cannot IFR more than 50nm, without the correct number of hrs.

G_STRING,

The answer to both your questions can be found in LASORS, a document the existence of which should be common knowledge to pilots, especially those seeking or holding professional licenses. Section D page 12 might be a good starting point for your bedtime reading.
