Having conducted my fair share of simulator assessments over the years I can wholeheartedly support corporate-pilot's comments. We long ago learned to filter out the effects of any prior exposure to advanced hardware. If you prefer to do an MCC course on a 320 or an NG and have the money to burn, that's your choice but don't kid yourself that it will give you any significant advantage in a subsequent assessment.

significant advantage in a subsequent assessment. |
Maybe just a little bit, as your a more confident operator. Doing an MCC in a cardboard box does not always bring out the best in you. The assessment is all about your personality and whether you can learn at a reasonable pace. What I can say is that the European MCC gave me a pretty good grounding for my current multi crew corporate job. They seemed to hit on some of the more important parts of 2 crew operations and got me ready for what was to come during type rating and line training. |

Do the JOC too if you can, it's all useful experience and often the highlight of the whole ATPL. European are top notch, couldn't recommend them more, - ENJOY!

Going to European in Feb for the MCC. Can anyone recommend a particular B&B from the list they send out?
Also, any recommended reading in advance of going on the course? |

I have just finished my MCC at European Skybus on the 737-200 sim.
I found the course excellent value for money, very intuitive and fun. The instructors are extremely knowledgable, professional and friendly and the back office staff are helpful and fun too! The sim was excellent, only a couple of small niggles that were sorted quickly. At the time I completed the course the FD was inop on the sim, but everything else was serviceable. The FD being inop really wasn't a big deal. In short, I would highly recommend European Skybus. |
