fATPL - then what?
Hi,
I am looking to commence training for my fATPL in AeroMadrid in Sept. I have finalised it yet coz I am still trying to get some opinions on it form all you guys.
I am now wondering what I can realistically expect after I get my licence. Are there ANY jobs with European airlines straight away or is that just a dream? What are my options once the course is done?
Thanks,
fergus

fergus448,
Airline jobs straight after obtaining an fATPL are, in general, very difficlut to obtain due to lack of experience. I don't want to say anymore because I am not an authoritative source on this. However, I would recommend that you visit the GAPAN site. They have recently published results of a survey that they asked a handful of airlines to participate, concerning what airlines look for in new FOs. One point that was highlighted was that new fATPL holders are poorly qualified to take an FO position as they have very little in the way of jet and multicrew experience. Take a look and see for yourself. Quite useful information.
