Welshpool - yes Henri where I used to work - do 50hrs hour building blocks for £2,995 with no landing fees thereafter and you can take the hours as and when you want them over an open ended period on any of the plentiful PA38's.
I always thought that a very good deal.
Good luck,

Lydd, on the south coast, were recently advertising C150's wet at £40 per hour. Presumably this would be some sort of bulk purchase deal.
Gosh - it's getting so that flying is only double the price of anywhere else in the world now, instead of three or four times - the Campaign Against Aviation will have to impose a new tax or something quickly, before people actually start hour building in Britain again!

Cheapest ad-hoc (ie not block bookings) rates I know are £55 hour hire or £72 per hour training (dual) for C150 at Phoenix Flying School at Netherthorpe. Tel: 01909 481802. They have always been the cheapest I know of and I re-checked these rates this morning. Also, at the same airfield, Sheffield Aero Clubs rates are £85 dual, £68.50 for a C152, but they have high membership fees (well over £100). Phoenix dont charge any membership fees.
Why learn down South? Even if you add B&B costs, you should be able to save money.

Sleap, virtually round the corner from Welshpool, works out at around the same price, if you prefer C152s to Traumahawks. It looks like slightly more on paper, but they charge brakes off to brakes on instead of Hobbs time, which on average saves you 5 or 10 minutes per flight, and more if it's somewhere crowded. It's worth checking how time is charged wherever you go; it makes a difference.

Is the standard of training OK ?
I am not made of millions and a reasonable hourly rate interests me.
I fly out of Manchester International and I am hoping by rubbing shoulders with Airline pilots maybe this will give me an advantage in the months to come. (You never know when lady luck come`s your way, Knowledge is power etc).
The thing that interests me most is...
How much do they charge for twin ?
