Solinair FTO in Slovenia

Does anyone know anything about an FTO in Slovenia called Solinair. They run an integrated course but I am unsure if it is any good or not.

I am also looking at European Flight Training in Florida and Western Michigan University for the intergated course.

Any info or advice on these?

Thanks

http://www.solinair.si/slo/letalska-sola.html

that might be the homepage, english page under construction...
I heard a school in slovenia offering for about 40.000 euros all in the atpl... then it is a good deal, even if the school is not so good... all the money you will save is worth a bit less quality...

Cost vs. quality

Do you think that at the end of the day, it is worth paying Oxford or BAE Systems prices? They are both around 100,000 Euro for the entire course. Would it be better to do the ATPL in Slovenia for 40,000 Euro and then build some hours or get a type rating with the extra cash!

I don't have a bottomless piggybank so I need to be persuaded that Oxford is worth it.

Cheers

Funny thing happend today.

Normally my wife and I always have 'difficulties' deciding
where we want to go on a holiday. So while I was dreaming
about going to Portoroz and taking some lessons at
Solinair, she hinted it might me a good idea to go there ..

She wouldn't mind the beach the close proximity of Trieste
and Venice and if I would limit the flying to the moring she
would be more than happy to go to Slovenia.

So I'll probably check out the school next month

FTO Choice ?

1. The cheapest FTO is not necessarily the best value for money. Are they fully JAR compliant for your training requirements? Check on the regulators websites.

2. You just have to look back over the last 15 years+ at the UK schools who have gone bust, and the poor students who paid up front lost out badly. How financially secure is the proposed FTO ? I would suggest that Jerez is as good as it gets. Tried and tested.

3. What connections have the FTO got with the airlines in the area in which you wish to acquire your first job?

4. I think a year learning Spanish [as a sideline] could be useful.

5. Think quality, quality, quality - everytime.

I'm just looking for some cheap airtime to practise
landings and basic a/c handling, so I do not need
to learn that in .NL for getting my PPL. 45hrs is the
minimum, but if I can do it in 45 'dutch' hours and
15 'slovenian' hours that would be fine with me
(landings in .SI are €3.70 in .NL € 17,-)

As for ATPL, I'm not interested in that, but I can give
my view about the school with regard to the PPL course
the offer, if that course is than you know

As for ATPL schools in general, with the current job market,
the only school that is really worthwile is that school that
*ensures* you a job, none do if I'm not mistaken. So maybe
ppl get a cheaper school and spend the saved money on
extra training MCC/Jet or whatever ....
