Unhappy Has Sept 11th ruined it for us genuine people ?

Hi Guys, I myself like many of you out there am a wannabe and in the past when I have been a passenger on a commercial flight. I have the opportunity on many times to request a ride in the jumpseat for takeoff and or landing, by presenting the CSD with a formal letter accompanied with a business card. I must say I have been successful 90% of the time.. .. .But may I add that I have not taken any flights sinse Sept 11th. Have all jumpseat rides been banned altogether ? The reason why I ask is that I been looking at the website http://airliners.net and have noticed that there are a number of photographs taken from the cockpits from most of the world's biggest carriers that have been dated after Sept 11th.. .. .Could you please advise what the situation is.. .. .Many thanks for all your help on this matter.. .. .LDG

All visits are banned. Ask if you can visit either before take off - or more likely on the ground at destination.. .. .Sorry, . .. .WWW

Thank WWW, . .. .I don;t want to sound argumentative, but judging by those pictures, would I be saying that it was just a cockpit visit and not a Js ride ?. .LDG

Hi guys,. .. .First post on PPrune and happy to join the community. From what I undertsand, access to the cockpit is left at the captain's discretion. However, it's clear that it is much harder now to have a cockpit ride if you don't know anyone...sad!. .. .Anyway, I'm taking an Air France flight from Toulouse to Paris in about 2 hours and be sure I will ask for it, have nothing to lose.. .. .Happy flights to all of you. .. .Clear from TLS

Just a thought, could those photos on airliners.net have been taken by the flight crew, or a member of staff?
