Bill Macleod, he's a bloody champion isn't he!
I heard all these terrible stories about these IR examiners being the spawn of the devil, and then landed with Bill, you couldn't ask for a nicer chap. By my calculations I 'could' have been failed on at least 3 of the test sections if he was being really picky - but he shook my hand and gave me a full pass first time
Could have knocked me down with a feather I tell you!
Congrats eagerbeaver, welcome to the club ...

Passed the IR yesterday myself and happened to fly with Bill too. A great chap who made me feel at ease definately, but a soft touch? Definately not. Once in the aircraft he was examiner mode and nothing went unnoticed believe me. Still feels good to have finally done it, record time too.

Max,
Well if you can pass a 25 hour CPL course, and then a 50 hour IR course in 3.5 weeks. Passing the CPL and IR first time in that time frame you deserve a job straight away!
I thought that commercial training such as CPL and IR are bound by the same rules as pilots duty hours? Wouldn't 75 hours put you over in 3.5 weeks? I know the limit is 90, but, thats for guys/girls who are on line flying each day. Hows did you cram the hours in around the minimum sectors your allowed each day. Especially with breaks between CPL and IR sorties?
Well done again, good luck with the job hunting.

Its in in the wording Homer my friend. I 'finished' the CPL element 'and' the '50hr IR'. I didnt require the full 25hr CPL course and hence didnt break any rules. Hope this clears things up.
