id just like to say that i flew for the first time today!! in a cessna 150.
the instructer said that he is going to be generous and let me TAKE OFF!! he let me taxi to the start of the runway using the rudders and when we did engine checks we began rolling and i took us off the ground. i climbed to 2000 ft and then he talked me through banking and decending and some more climbing. After we had flown around for a while we headed back to the airfield as we flew horizontally of the runway a few miles out (crosswind leg i think) he said that he was so inpressed with my confidence and knowledge of the aircraft and flying that he was going to let me do the APPROACH!! so i did what he said and decended towards the runway i was allowed to decend all the way to 50 ft (around 2 seconds from the ground) and he took over to land it. I was amazed with myself because the instructer kept his hands on his knees and i had flown the WHOLE flight with no help appart for just before the landing. He seemed suprised with how confident i was and encouraged me to persue my flying career as an airline pilot. I WANT TO SAY THANKS TO BARTON AIRFIELD WHICH IS A VERY NICE AIRFIELD AND ESPECIALLY TO MY INSTRUCTER WHO WAS EXCELLENT AND I AM GOING TO REQUEST TO HAVE HIM INSTRUCT ME FOR MY PPL.
i am a 16 year old and for my VERY first flight i feel myself i was very lucky to have this opportunity and feel that i did well and it has made me even more hungry for my career as an airline pilot!
Thanks a lot you guys
now i can understand FIRST HAND what you mean about flying.
Warm Regards
Dave
(very happy soon to be ppl holder)

I know how you feel mate, 6 months ago i had my first lesson and it went really well like yours, due to lack of financial funding i am only on 5 1/2 hours (including AEF flights and gliders) but i am already doing landings,Radio, etc etc. I've got my GCSE's at the end of this month so i will not be having any lessons untill after them. Any way, i hope to see you in the air some time and good luck!!!!

Well done matey, I'm gonna have my first lesson in about a fortnight, hope it goes as well as yours. I'm hoping to get at least 10 hours in by the end of the year, but I have an embarasingly small bank account
- still - your good experience has encouraged me to go for a lesson even sooner than planned...Will tell ya's about it when I do it...
Regards
Mike

Well done Chap,
The buzz never goes away.
Every time you've flown it feels that good. That's why we all want to do it.
I've just got my PPL at 28, and in fact I just took my girlfriend flying for the first time today, same buzz every time, l-h! I recommend going for your licence early, if funds allow!
Gaz
P.S. Can you put a few paragraph breaks in your messages, it's a little easier to read.

LH - Glad you enjoyed it. Check out the RAF for Flying scholarships. It doesn't commit you and there are only a limited number, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Also look out for other offers (Guild of Airline Pilots & navigators? etc). Welcome to the world.
