Guide to licences etc.
Hi all,
I'm currenly producing a new website. The aim is produce a free site for those who are learning, or who want to learn to fly, for PPL or aiming towards commercial licences, which answers the many questions they may have on the ins and outs of licences.
It is intended to be a factual site, with information such as the exams you need to take, hours you need, how to get a Cpl, atpl, what the abbreviations mean, how to keep your licence current, as well as GA links etc.
Much of the information is of course here on PPRUNE, but of course not always easy to find.
Question therefore : What would you, as a wannabe want to see ?

You are quite right - in fact I have a hard copy of LASORS right here. Don't you think the website is a bit, slow, clunky, difficult to read, and of course in PDF which i find a pain ??
I tried to find something out on the LASORS site but couldnt so ended up visiting them at gatters to buy a copy. On the other hand, maybe that is the idea !!

Hi Terrain,
Great plan. Licensing is such a complex area and in my book the CAA LASORS is not a website, it's more like an E-Book, and a pretty uninteresting one at that! If you can put this useful (essential) information into an good website I'm sure it will get some good use. I'm in the Internet business myself and if it wasn't for being sick of computers at work and lack of spare time I would like to do something like this myself. Is this a pro/commercial venture or just something you fancy doing?
All the best anyway, and if you need any help drop me a line.
Tim

Would have to disagree on that. I am sure many would find both PPL and ATPL information useful. Just look at the amount of queries on both wannabees and private flying forums reference PPL and ATPL issues
