Angry What does it take??

Having applied to 18 different airlines the best response is "held on file" from three of them. Today BA Citiexpress sent the Dear John letter too - no explanation. I've got 1500 hours (1000 instructional whilst earning a pittance) and enough "life experience" at 37 to be an asset to someone. I've only been applying for a couple of months now but it's frustrating to say the least.
Am I ;
(a) Too old
(b) Have too many of the wrong hours, or
(c) Too impatient

I'm sure I won't be as p***ed off tomorrow, but feel free to contribute.

PS. I don't mean to put any of you guys off. Just telling it like it is.

Did the old BCPL route, which is comparable to the modular. Spent a long time doing non-approved IR via a deal with my flying school (not a great deal in the end due to the time delay). Perhaps the airlines aren't as keen on this route but there's not many of us left.
