Question Where in to fly in Ox-area?

Can anyone recommend a friendly flying club in Oxford area?

I'm a PPL with 150 hours all in the US so might be looking an hour or two familarisation with an instructor, but after that, just rental I guess.

I'm currently ploughing thru my Bristol Groundschool notes and my brain will shrivel into a [p]prune unless I get in the air again soon.

Would help if there were some fellow lager enthusiasts among the membership too!

Cool

Hi Kilkenny

I am moving back to the Oxford area next month and have a spookily similar flying/groundschool/drinking profile to you!

There is the obvious; OATS and a few other options

Try Wellesbourne, most the schools there have very good reputations. They have a website for the airfield. Wellesbourne airfield dot com, or somthing simliiar.

Cheers

There are flying clubs at Oxford/Kidlington airport itself. There is Oxford Flyers, which is a subsidiary of OAT, but sort of separate from the College, whilst within it. But there are also other flying schools on the airport.

Additionally, there is Enstone Airfield, close to Oxford, on the Chipping Norton road. There's a flying club/rental club there as well.

Sorry if this all a bit vague. But it's enough to give you leads to check up on if you're interested enough. I fly with Oxford Flyers, myself, so I haven't investigated the others in detail.

All the best,

Paul

Hi guys. Thanks for the responses.

Back from pub, listening to George Harrison and feeling at peace with the world.

Think I will definitely sort something out pronto.

Airscream: expect email to wing it's way to you shortly.
