Thumbs up CTC - THE PLACE TO BE !

Thought I'd put something on prune as I managed to land a job with Easyjet on Friday.. .. .I did the AQC course in February and now have a job. Yes, the course might be expensive (I had to take out a third loan to do it) but it is fantastic. The groundschool and sim instructors are the best I have been taught by and really want you to get the most out of it. It is bloody hard work but well worth it!. .. .If anyone is even thinking of doing an MCC course, do it with CTC! You might aswell spend a bit more money and have at least a chance of getting a jet job, especially in these frustrating times.. .. .I myself only have 250 hrs.

Cool

I can only agree 110% with CSDU. Don't care what anyone says - for about the same price as an instructor rating I landed a 1st time job RHS in a jet with a major operator through CTC. They are the nuts and no mistake.. .. .I had 250 hours too. i can't believe they are stuck for applicants in the current climate.

Question

Lokked at their web-site. Ref the AQC course, are you obliged to apply for the ATP scheme or can you go for the AQC course and then move on to the ATP scheme after successful complettion?. .Also the job with easy, was that a result of the ATP scheme or direct from the AQC course?. .cheers.

As I understand it, if you want to apply to join CTC's ATP scheme, then you must pay for their AQC course as the first step.. .. .Successful completion of the AQC, and selection procedures for the ATP scheme then allow you to be placed into a 'pool' of pilots. CTC then approach airlines with specific requirements and will place pilots from the pool, with the client airlines. . .. .I believe that a bond is payable at this stage, but I do not know how much it is, or what the conditions are.. .. .easyJet's web site states that CTC currently carry out their 737-300 conversion training,so they will probably have some influence to place some of their pilots with easyJet!. .. .I stand to be corrected on any of the above!

Red. .. .The AQC can actually be the last step in the selection process, but there is nothing to stop you doing it first, and then applying to go on the ATP scheme.. .. .It is by miles the best option for an MCC qualification for anyone who needs to get it.. .. .There is no bond payable by the candidate, as long as you don't leave the scheme before you have finished your placement with a partner airline. Right now there a re a load of cadets doing 757 and 737 ratings RIGHT NOW. Both myself and CSDU got a job last week with easyJet after just 5 weeks in the hold pool. Now that's MAGIC!!

There are various theories about what CTC stands for, but the most popular seems to be 'Crew Training Centre'.. .. .The company name is actually 'CTC Aviation Group plc'.. .. .If the following link is missing to their website, then I guess the moderators have edited my reply.. .. .www.ctcaviation.com. .. .The banner at the top of pprune does sometimes display an advert for one of their courses, which should link to their website as well.. .. .I have heard they have an excellent bar!!. . . . [ 18 March 2002, 18:03: Message edited by: Red Demon ]

Cool

Congratulations to those who have been placed with an airline (you lucky ******s ). .. .Correct me if i'm wrong !!. .. .If upon completion you get placed with an airline does it not say somewhere that you don't actually get paid for the 8 months during your training and placement with an airline.. .. .It says you get the normal expenses that an airline would pay and they try for a subsistence payment from the airline (between £4-£6000 over the 8 months ) but not guarenteed. . .. .did any of you guy's receive any of this and what money was paid to you whilst training ? reasons for asking are that with a career development loan hanging over your head at £300/month not earning something wouldn't be an option although i'd find the money from somewhere cause i'd have a placement with an airline !!!! . .. .Good luck guy's !!!. .. . . . . . [ 18 March 2002, 23:00: Message edited by: Captain.K ]

Congratulations to all those that have just landed jobs with easyJet. . .. .I have been invited to CTC for the second phase selection in the not too distant future. I have already done an MCC course, and Im thinking of the AQC too. If CSDU or Tangible Frangible could email me regarding the course, it would be appreciated.. .. .Thanks. .Homer
