IR Renewal

Can anybody tell me of any simulator locations in the UK where I can renew my IR, or the cheapest flying school renewal on an aircraft? Thanks

I enquired about it too, and found that Stapleford has a Seneca sim that is certified for IR Renewals. Gonna do mine there soon I hope.

Hey Guys,

Why not use an aircraft rather than the FNPT and renew your MEP Class rating at the same time?

I've recently renewed mine on a sim, and I have very mixed feelings about the experience.

Don't get me wrong, if you need a lot of training, then the sim's the way to do it. If however, you think your pretty much there, do it on the a/c and get the MEP renewed at the same time. Works out cheaper I think.

I do agree. Do it on an aircraft and it will renew you MEP at the same time. My MEP has already been renewed so does anyone know if you can do a renewal on any type of sim eg a turbine if your IR is a Piston? Just wondering coz you're not actually renewing the type just the IR?

Arrow

just renewed my IR in Stapleford. Good outfit, excellent instructor. B&B on site, as well as clubhouse, etc...

check www.flysfc.com.

If you do not expect to fly multiengine, but just want to keep your Multi IR, this is the way to go. - Airlines are not interested in a single pilot class rating and you don't need it for adding a type rating (when the time comes...)

I agree with renewing the Multi engine MEP but how many hours on average do you reckon you need to pass the IR renewal and the MEP if you have been flying singles since you started?

Also if you can just renew the IR in a sim which I am not sure about myself (unless it is the airline sims) then can you do a single engine IR?
