Dood.. .. .I think you must do a triangle (ish) landing at two different airports. The entire journey must be no less than 300nm. Ah, and it must be done o n the same day i.e. as one journey. Ofcourse that's weather permitting.. .. .Sweet.

emu - you're not seriously planning doing a 4-5 hour cross country solo in your C150 in the dark?. .. .As much as anything else, they'd be no one there to sign your sheet to say you've been there.. . . . [ 18 March 2002, 10:38: Message edited by: Gin Slinger ]

Scarly enough gin slinger I have seen people do that in the states while hour building. They were trying to get the 100hr night flying hours as well in the space of 3 weeks.. .. .There is no requirement for the individual legs to be signed off. So as long as you log the trip and you get your log book stamped by the FTO as correct the CAA will accept it.. .. .BTW i think it is completely daft as well.. .. .MJ

The CAA General Information Document quotes amongst requirements for both CPL and ATPL, modular and integrated:. .. .a cross-country flight of at least 540km (300 nm) in the course of which fullstop. .landings at two aerodromes different from the aerodromes of departure. .shall be made.. .. .Apparently the distances are checked by laying a rule on a chart, ie straight line distances. By the time you've gone round a few CTRs etc, it can soon add up to far more than 300nm.. .. .The CFI where I fly from was convinced that it must all be done in daylight, and that you should return to your aerodrome of departure within the same day, but no mention of that in the GID. Is this a requirement?. .. .I also did a 200nm x-country, all at night, landing at one other aerodrome, but can't find any mention of that requirement in the literature. Is that still needed, or was that for old UK CPL?. .. .WGW
