You could always try ringing David himself, I'm sure he wouldn't mind.He is a very approachable man.. .It's an excellent publication, and as relevant today in its latest reprint as it was when I first read it 20 years ago!(and used it to pass my initial instrument rating at the old CAFU unit at Stansted first time, thanks David).. .He now works for British Aerospace(simulators)at Woodford, near Manchester.

While David's book is not 'obscure' I found www.alibris.com able to find some very out of print aviation publications.. .. .'Instrument Flying' was published in 1981 by Airlife Publishing Ltd., ISBN 0 906393 06 X.. .. .I still use it for each IR Renewal

Just beware it covers the basics okay, but is slightly out of date with regards to the contents and conduct of the actual IR Skill Test.. .. .For that I suggest you get a copy of Standards Document 1 from the CAA at . .. .IR SKill Test Guidance. .. .Regards
