BA Aptitude on 9th July
Hi,
This is my first post but I have seen posts where people have tried to find out who is going to aptiutde tests on the 16th July. I would like to know if anyone else is going on the 9th...
Also to the wannabies who have been this year, have the tests changed since a year/year and a half ago. The reasoning behind this is that the information they have sent through is exactly the same!
Thanks Guys and Girls
Sloany

Thanks for the good wishes guys. I found out today that I have made it to the next round..come on, one step closer to the dream.
Spikyt - one bit of advice I can give to get through the aptitudes is to buy some verbal reasoning books to get the practise. The first time I did these test I screwed up royally on them. I will post the book titles 2mrw.
I will keep everyone updated. Does any one know what sort of essay titles come into play in the next round???
Thanks

Well done Sloany,
Good luck for the next round, sorry I don’t know what’s up for you there, but I would really like to know how you had prepared for the apps. (Can you prepare for them…..)
I will be applying to BA in the next couple of months and, well lets say a tad anxious.
Feel free to e-mail me, you'll get the address above.
Oh, chase that dream............

Fra and Spikyt....For BA their are 3 tests and 1 personlity questionaire. The 3 tests are
1)Numerical (as long as you have some sort of maths knowledge no real problem)
2)Verbal Reasoning (see all the posts on this site regarding this)
3)Computer test (can't really prepare for this, tests reactions, co-ordination etc)
The way to prepare for the verbal reasoning test is to practice. The first time I did the test I failed because I was not focused on the text and due to lack of practise.
Buy some books on specifically Verbal Reasoning Tests, the times has a couple which are good and provide examples. Unfortunately I forgot to write the names of some books down but I will post something shortly. Once you have the nack it shouldn't give you too much cause for concern (slight lie there but hey!!!)

Regarding the verbal reasoning test. Is it better to read the questions first and look for the answer in the paragraph, or to read the paragraph first then proceed to the questions?

Thanks Spikyt not too sure when FB is yet, have to have a small med first, should be about 4 weeks though. I am looking forward to it now as the process seems to take for ever! Good luck with the tests...
Girt - Read the question first, otherwise you will spend ages looking for the answers that if you had read the text would jump out at you!

Sloany, Just read the news! Congrats my friends!! How did you find the day? I presume you had no big surprises and that everything obviously went to plan.

Hi Sloany,
Sorry for not getting back sooner, been busy........
Thanks for the advice on the books, I think that a purchase of these would be in order, can you advise of any specific authors, titles etc.
Good luck with the rest of your interview, and let us all know how you get on.
Regards
Fra
