Must I stay with one School or one state ?

Hi all,
Thanks to a nice redundancy package being offered at work giving me roughly a third of the costs Ive decided once and for all to 'trouble' the bank manager and jump feet first into full time training towards a frozen jaa atpl.
Heres the question. Can I mix and match schools ? I.E. Do the groundschool with "a", the flying with "b" and the ratings with "c" or do I have to stay with the one school for the entire lot ?
My plan was to do the groundschool with Atlantic Flight Training out in South Africa and come back to England later on for the practical, however a friend of mine told me that once Ive started training in Sth. Africa I must remain out there (or come back later) and complete all phases of my training with them.
Is this correct ? Do the CAA insist you stay with one member state throughout your training or one school ?
Sorry if its a simple question. As usual thanks for any advice you can give.

Teroc,
AFT's modular course in SA is JAA aproved by the CAA. Therefore, eventhough you are not in the UK, you are still deemed to be training under the authority of the CAA. So there's no problem in doing your PPL, IMC, Night, Multi, hour building in a JAA approved flight school in SA as long as you sit your CPL test and ATPL exams under the supervision of the JAA State that has approved the SA flight school!!!
Hope this helps.
