ATPL Groundschool
Has anybody out there done any flying at Naples air center? Or better still, has anyone done their ATPL groundschool? I'm currently considering it as it happens......... Any comments, experiences, opinions or info would be appreciated. Let me know

Yes I have flown at NAC, and can say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I believe their ground school only started last Sept, therefore the first class is yet to complete all 14 modules, however, from what I hear it seems pretty good.
From personal experience, if you are considering flying with NAC, I could not really fault them, aircraft were readily available (as long as you organise yourself and book them), instructors were helpful and approachable, and Mr Clegg was keen to organise football matches .
If you require any other info, send me a message, I will be more than happy to answer any questions.
Cheers.

I've flown at NAC. Pretty good school. Nice location, good facilities, good a/c etc.
I might be a bit hesitant to go with them for ATPL ground though because most of the instructors are young, inexperienced (wannabes like ourselves) and largly foreign (not that there's anything wrong with that but they might have problems explaining things in clear english). But as already said the first lot are still working through the course so it's too early to pass judgement.

I appreciate your great comments regarding NAC and the time that you spent with us.
I think however that you may not be aware of the ATPL ground school staff. I currently have on staff three experienced grey haired gentlemen (ret. royal navy & ret.airline captains) and another two that are still yet to grey but have 16-20 years experience each.
I think they would be offended at the "wannabees" title, but they enjoyed the young classification!

I'm at Naples at the moment, and I don't really have anything bad to say about it. The instuctors have a good back ground knowledge, and it is a reasonably relaxed atmosphere, while maintaining what seams to be a high standard of tuition.
We've just finished module 1 and are waiting for the exams to come around. It's been really hard work but then thats the course, not the location (truck driving seams so appealing at times!) We haven't had any drop outs so far and with the aircraft to hand, a day trip to get away from it all has to be done now and again.
Night life in Naples is not the wildest, but there is enough to keep me amused since I should be studying anyway. Just try not to end up on the "ATPL wall of shame" as some guys seam to take cameras on a night out, and for anybody that knows me, she was actually younger than she looked!
Seriously, it's a good place and providing that I get the results I shall be recomending it.
