BGS 6th January Brush up Mod 1

Anybody on the BGS 6th January Brush up Module 1 course.
If so how are you getting on.

Im getting a little apprehensive about it as I hate exams.

I am pretty much familiar with all of the progress test questions apart from MET which I will concentrate on over the next 2 weeks. Im currently reading the MET For Pilots by M Wickson, So far it has been an excellent addition to the BGS notes.

Give me a shout if you are there in January, I will be interested to know how other people feel during this build up to crunch time.
Or from anybody who has already been there and got the T shirt who may have any advise to offer.

Mint

Mintflavour:

My advice would be to wait for the brush-up fortnight, then do FEEDBACK, FEEDBACK, FEEDBACK. They'll hand out progressively more of the stuff throughout the course.

Feedback is the way you'll actually pass the exams.

Aim to spend 3-4 hours each night, plus all day over the 2 weekends just going through it.

Come the 2nd module brush-up course, I only referred to the notes on a handful of occasions to confirm a few points.

Mintflavour,

Gin Slinger is right, Feedback is the answer, I found that out when I only got half the exams. Then someone on Pprune Wrote "you could take the textbooks into the exam and still not answer the question". try and get as much feedback as possible.

good luck

Thanks for the advise, can I take it that all of the feedback are the same questions that you could get in the exams??

Did Mod 1 BGS brushup end of Nov, just got resultsfrom exams 8/8. To say I am a bit happy at the moment would be a gross understatement.

Before I went down to BGS I tried to go through the whole lot again and did all of the tests on my PC, refering to my notes for problem questions. Keep doing them until you get consistantly high marks +80%. This will also highlight any weak areas.

Once you get to BGS everything should fall into place, like the other guys say you get loads of practice exams. Most guys on our course were studying 5 hrs a night Plus both weekends.

Then same format just keep doing these questions until you keep getting good marks. The team down there are very good, incidently I had the same opinion before I got my results.

You'll probabley brick-it before your first exams, if your going to Gatwick the canteen food is excellent.

I am coming back down to earth now as Mod 2 brushup is booked for March. Enjoy the Christmas break!!!
