European Flyers at Blackbushe have gone bust
....all very worrying and sad, especially for former staff and those who will now be creditors.
Finished my PPL there back in '94 and have some happy memories of my membership there until '96 (leaky terrapins and all!!) - had some good instructors in those days aswell.
EF had a great social side at that time aswell, a lot of it down to the many owner-pilots at EGLK who were and probably still would be members if the Club had survived.
Anybody else here taught/examined by Vic Hargreaves in those days?....a fine Gent.

Anyone interested in keeping their instructor from EF at a new school please send me a message. A couple of us are going to be working freelance at White Waltham with our existing students. Please drop me a line if you would like to know more.

It appears European Flyers owns both GSONY, the A200D, and GDAKK, the DC3. This may explain why the company is in financial difficulties. All their aircraft are supposedly for sale at Anglo in Bournemouth. Before anybody gets too excited there are 16 mortgages on their 10 planes, plus 6 memorandum of variations (increased mortgages?) and 1 mortgage debenture. The last set of accounts (1999) shows £217,000 debt and £139,000 creditors. How many Euroshare memebers does that creditor number imply?
I suggest any creditors get their claims in quickly.

Cruise alt, you do realize that "freelancing" is illegal under JAR.
you must operate under the auspices of an FTO or RF to remain legal.
Best of luck, fly legal, fly safe.
