CABAIR groundschool
Ok, I know there is a lot of groundschool questions going around at the moment so I apologise for adding another but here goes..
I'm looking to start my ATPL's in June/August through distance learning. I've got all the postal stuff through from most of the schools but because of work it is really difficult for me to get 3 weeks off work at a time. CABAIR are starting a distance learning course soon, based on 4 phases instead of 2.
I assume that their distance material will be similar to their residential material so, has anyone got any thoughts/gripes/recommendations with CABAIR? Can it be compared to the quality of Bristol? Is a 4 phase course better or worse then 2. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I thought Bristol's classroom session was for 2 weeks for each of the two modules? So, over the year, it would be a max of four weeks (which if you plan carefully, you'll be able to take 10 days from two separate years holiday) - does that make sense?

No im not going to Cabair im afraid.
When i spoke to one of the blokes at the Flyer exhibition in Manchester he seemd like a right to*s*r!
Why dont you come with me to ATA?
It supposed to be a top school.

BGS brush-up courses are only 2 weeks but the way in which they have set up their modules means that the exams are spread over a number of days. Consequently, if you sat the exams during the week followin the ground school (which makes sense) you'll need two 3 week sessions away from work.

Cheers for the posts. 3 weeks dosent deem a long time but im one of those unfortuate people who work shifts. In one respect its great cos i can often fly mid week when its fairly easy to get an aircraft and i get extra pay for doing it (straight into the bank to save for that CPL/IR) <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
The bad news is that my holidays are set for me!! The onlt way to get any extra time off is to swap with someone else, something I dont mind doing but its finding some one who's willing to swap. Hopefully I wont be there in a year or two cos i'll be flying around in big alluminium tubes
Anyone else find shift work gets in the way of your training?
