Easyjet is ready to order another 75 jets over the next five years!!! Yes that's 75 brand new jets, creating 750 new positions for pilots!!!

The Low cost market are definitely on a High!!!

750 new positions? By my maths, 750 is about the number of pilots BA and BMI can lose as a result of being undercut by eJ.

I thought the ratio of crew to aircraft was about 6:1 - i.e. 75*6 = 456

Who cares? At the end of the day (assuming it's true and actually goes ahead) it's still an airline purchasing planes and creating jobs. However negatively and cynically we look at it, it can only be a good thing. Let's hope others follow EJ's lead.
