You might want to ask the guys in the Middle East Forum, I`m sure they`ve got more info for you than the guys here in the Wannabes forum - not saying that any info here is bad.
I think they require a couple of thousand hours and a type. Pretty steep.

If you look in the Terms and Endearments forum, Emirates appear to be looking for people with 5000 hrs or more, mostly on jets and with glass cockpit time.
As this (Wannabes) forum is for those looking to get their initial professional qualification and for their first airline job, you're asking the wrong people. As Freak suggests, try the Middle East forum for up to date info.
Incidentally, Chuck's surname was spelled Yeager, I believe!

For all you need to know about emirates and their requirements as well as pay check out their website on:www.emiratesgroupcareers.com
This website was set up earlier this year because emirates are looking to triple their workforce in the next 5 years. Very good sections on flight deck careers including pay and conditions. ENJOY.
