BAE price increase
Well I shall try once again,and tone it down a . .bit as my last post on this subject was taken off . .the board? If you did not see it, it was . .regarding a email I received from the fto . .informing me of a future increase in price from. .82000 to 87000 euro for the intergrated course.. .This of course was annoying to me and surely to. .everyone else out there literally scraping the . .pennies together getting closer and closer to. .your dream to find it has been put that little. .bit further beyond you once again. Before anyone. .decides to point out the fact that I can easily . .just choose somewhere else the point is after. .years of investigations and choices on how?when?. .and where to train? I had settled on jerez and. .felt it was the place for me. I was not purely. .choosing bae for cost but of course it was of . .significant importance,now one of the . .distinguishing points that bae had over other. .fto's I feel has gone, will others follow suit?. .is this just the beginning of more and more. .price hikes and more selective screening as I. .believe the aptitude testing is now mandatory. .in some fto's. Of course I will be in touch. .with them in the future regarding the issue,. .however in the mean time I would like to hear. .what you lads/lassies have to say about it.

Friday, BAE Systems has a really good reputation but the price is a tad dear. Their Integrated program in Adelaide, Oz is $89,000Oz and that does not include return airfare. For that price you should get daily lap-dances with Pam Anderson and training in a jet....but you don't...you just accumulate a lot of debt.. .If you want to save some cash - cut your training in 1/2 or by 2/3rds - go to <a href="http://www.webwings.co.nz" target="_blank">www.webwings.co.nz</a> and click on International Aviation Academy of New Zealand. Click on courses and you'll see that their Integrated Program is about $48,000NZ = roughly $25,000Euro. Check it out. 12 months and all done.

Ah does not matter, I don't recall the post.. .. .It's just that if it was me, I'd want to know what I'd done so as to avoid it in the future, hence the reason for asking.. .. .PS

Jeez had me worried there I thought it was me being the orignator, but anyway as it was unfortunately taken off, I am glad this one has not attracted unruley comments so far as I am very interested in genuine views on the topic?

Price rises are an inevitable part of the aviation picture, and, as someone mentioned, Spain has significant price inflation - notwithstanding its membership of the EMS. In fact, training prices have been remarkably stable over the last couple of years, but there are significant upward price pressure on all aviation operations thanks to, mainly, insurance costs. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see other FTOs increasing their prices soon for the same reasons. It's also conceivable that BAe are trying to match their price to the demand for training, in other words they charge more because you guys will pay. Don't confuse them with a charity, this is business and it's hard rules!

I went to BAE in Feb before the price hike and i was told that the airlines were stopping sending new students because of the so called downturn etc etc.I remember making a point of asking him did this mean there would be a price increase sometime in the future,"Absolutely Not" was the reply.For everyones info have a look at Airmed very good,i had an extensive visit in Feb.(just completed installing new A320 6 axis sim for MCC etc)

I am now strongly considering signing the contract. .by March 18th in order to avail of the cheaper. .price, however my problem is I can't start till. .febuary or march 2003.I will have to wait till . .monday now to see if they wil allow me do this.. .In the mean time can anyone tell me if signing . .the contract so far in advance is a good idea?. .. .ps Cheers to those who replied so far.
