OATS ,CPL in the US, plus MD chat..
The new MD at OATS addressed the college students today. Here are the ball points. Staff - downsizing begining 4 weeks time, (25, FIs not confirmed). Future FIs to instruct in both sim & air. Future student cap of 200 per year. Modular CPL program to begin in US 21 March, no mention of cost. Future students will undergo selection! MD off to spk to SAS & Finair about sponsorship progs. In contract with other airlines regarding other sponsored schemes. Instuctors cse aval in states with J1 visa and possible 1st Officer Prog. Generally v positive about future " There is no way that Oxford is going to close". Possibility of new A/C by end 2003. The general theme was that he wants Oxford to down size in order to focus on excellence. Sadly no OATs students will be able to read this as they have had thier internet facilities put out of bounds as some body has been surfing with one hand........

Well, well, another re-organisation. Telegraph readers may have spotted a timely quote this morning.... .
quote:
We trained very hard but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams, we were reorganised. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganising and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress, while producing confusion, inefficiency and demoralisation.. .. .Caius Petronius AD66

One assumes that there are going to be proportionate cuts in the deadweight on the first floor.
