Post Flyer's Training exhibition at Heathrow

Anyone read about the air training show advertised in Flyer?. .. .It will be at Heathrow on 12th of April. I was wandering if anyone will be going, if anyone has been to these things before, and if anyone knows whether it will be worth my while going all that way. (I am looking for sponsorships etc, and any other way of catching a break, have not got enough money to pay for training, yet.). .. .Cheers guys.

If you are serious about flight training then yes, you must go. It is a fairly inexpensive way to learn a lot. . .I can't comment on sponsorship - You make your own luck with that.

I have been twice its good if you are a PPL looking for somewhere to train and spend your money. The two times I went there were no organisations offering sponsorship and this was a couple of years ago.. .. .cheers. .. .MJR

Well worth it for me last year in Manchester. I flew over from Dublin especially for the exhibition and was delighted I went.. .. .If you want to sit down and have a good long chat with people from the FTO's you are interested in, it is well worth it. . .. .The talks too were really interesting and well presented. . .. .Maybe there will be one closer to you in Yorkshire this summer again?

I went to the last Ex at the renaissance hotel last November. It was excellent, it answered a lot of questions I had about professional pilot training. Does anyone know if this event will be similar to that of last November, or is it different? If it is different then I will go again.. .. .Tri

Red face

Yorkshire Lad - you'll find a better show on the 13th April - not the 12th - I know you must be keen, but getting there a day early is overdoing it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="rolleyes.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

This type of show is great, and good to see that PPRune is getting involved.. .. .Question....why the hell choose Heathrow as a venue??. .. .There are no low cost flights to there.. .. .If this is a National show, why not somewhere near Stanstead, Luton or Gatwick. That way those of us who live north of Watford could get ourseves a cheap ticket and join in.. .. .Having said that, I went to one of these shows in Kensington (or somewhere like that in Londonshire) a couple of years ago and it was well worth the trip.. .. .I no longer need the training advice but would be more than happy to pay for a low cost airline ticket to keep in touch with whats going on, but Heathrow as a venue rules that out.

The choice of venue is a tricky one. In an ideal world we need a hotel with suitable facilities at a reasonable rate, car parking, easy access by road, rail, tube, bus etc. The venue at Heathrow so far provides the best cobination of the above.. .. .Ian

I will no doubt get my northern behind down to Heathrow as I have a few mates and family members that might put me up. Although it is a bloody awkward location.. . . .Although I am not yet in a financial position to start comparing ATPL packages (i wish) I need to go down there simply to keep on the ball. I will soon be deciding whether to do my ppl now or keep saving and do it a few years down the line as part of a 'bumber pro package' and this will help me decide.. .. .And, you never know, this could be where my chance of sponsorship is waiting for me!
