upgrade or downgrade?

Would you consider it an upgrade if transitioning from RH seat B737 to LH seat ATR,or would you rather call it downgrade?

I'd say downgrade. Many turboprop skippers leave to go to jets.

It`s personal preference. Some people enjoy flying the regionals, and enjoy the benefits (being at home almost every night and such) while others like the long haul routes. Some people want short time to command while others are satisfied by "doing their time" in the RHS.

I don`t think going from jet to turboprop is necessarily a downgrade, but it is not what is considered the normal carreer progression.

Two sides to every story.

I suspect the respective salaries will give you an idea of whether the World thinks it's an upgrade or downgrade.
