Cheapest J-1 visa Course

I was wondering what the cheapest course one can do to be eligible for a J-1 visa.
I dont have a US passport or green card so I'm not going to decieve myself thinkin I might get a work permit down the line, that's why i'm not too keen on the M-1 visa.
I would already have my PPL so that should reduce the cost i'll have to pay.
I want to be able to build hrs as i work on my JAA conversions.

best way to log time with no work permit or without J-1 visa is to work without work permit or without J1 visa.
once in the USA, buy a car and go speak to the flight manager,
say you accept cash and you will make yourself your taxe declaration.you will be a contractor and this is legal for a school.
if you have any question concerning how to work in the USA and making money and flight hours, write me.([email protected])

GOOD LUCK!

Not legal and therefore I would not recommend you tell others to go that way. In fact I would watch your back very closely.

Working in the US whether being paid or not needs a Visa. Another view by some schools that "try it on" is that you can train towards your ATPL by doing dome instruction. If you are doing Instruction you are working whethere being paid or not.

As for J1 schools I would reccommend:

Comair (although the pay is horrible!)
American Flyers (although the pay is horrible!)
NAIA (don't know about the pay, but it is hard to get online with them at the end so you will be looking elsewhere for work most probably)

Good Luck - I did it this way and got heaps of experience.

Of the 3 you mentioned I would say that NAIA is your best bet. Here`s why; Your J-1 visa is only valid for 24 months and is non-renewable, NAIA`s course takes about 8 months (including CFI) and it is the cheapest by far (of the 3 that were mentioned). Their CFIs aren`t the best paid in the business, and most of the students get instructorjobs elsewhere after training.

What this really means is that you can instruct for about 16 months and also you don`t have to pay as much for the same certificates as at other schools. Also, very nice people

facts not fiction pls

Beg your pardon sir. This is how i"ve understood M1 visa, permission to work in field of study, so if your studying for atp you can work at the school to obtain it. If I"m wrong then I oppolagise. Thanks for the advice on watching my back.

M1 allows foreign nationals to train at an approved school in the US to then return home. THis training does not allow a student to receive remuneration or unpaid work. Of course, if you are wishing to pay for the full 1500 towards ATP then this is acceptable however you are not allowed to instruct or fly on your commercial licence.

There is one provision on the M1; you are allowed with individual case approval from the dept of State to work for one month of every four months that you train. Therefore on a 6-8 month visa you would be able to work for 1 - 2 months. THis will not of course let you reach ATPL standards. They give these approvals very rarely!

The story that you site is purely J1 visa exchange program.
