Smile Free IFR PC Sim to Download

Hi all, came across this the other day when I was looking for a no frills PC based IFR sim for a bit of pre-IR/ IMC refresher training. It would appear that this software used to be charged out at about £90 but the author is now letting it go for free as a result of 9/11. A rare bit of altruism me thinks.
The download is approx. 10MB and there is a full pdf manual included. May take a while but I think its ok. Might be useful to those looking to refresh their scan etc.
Anyways here’s the link http://airlines.afriqonline.com/download.htm see what you think.

All the best DD

Its not too bad too.... my instructor introduced it to me a short while back for my IMC. Spending a few hours on it really save me loads in the air with NDB / VOR tracking and holding procedures with some varying wind conditions. Its a great procedure trainer.

regards

Obs.

Thumbs up Radio Nav

This is also handy as a simple visualisation of various nav aides:

I have used version 1, and the updated version of Sarah Ward's IR trainer, for the last four years, and still use it to refresh on approaches and letdowns.

I would recommend pilots to try it, especially if you have difficulty getting in enough hours to feel up to speed.
