Just thought I'd cast a glimmer of hope in these troubled time for Wannabes. The medium term is very bright - as illustrated by this article from The Economist:
http://www.economist.co.uk/agenda/di...ory_id=1414234
Airports will have to spend huge sums over the next few years if they are to keep pace with the demand for air travel. Passenger numbers are expected to double over the next 20 years. BAA alone expects to spend more than £8 billion ($12.5 billion) on new facilities and improvements to existing ones over the next decade or so.
So it really is worth training. Sometime...
Cheers

Thanks WWW
When you're stuck right in the middle of the ATPLs, studying your little butt off with no light at the end of the tunnel, it's posts like that which do the trick!
Cheers mate.

The Mole. Yes you are right its easy for me to say because I've got a job. That said I still want the industry to expand as far and as quickly as possible. I want to be higher up the seniority list and further to the left of the flightdeck as possible. Both things will be aided by industry expansion and therefore in a limited way we are all sailing in the same boat here.
Aviation has a bright future. Not this year and not next - but it is coming.
Good luck,
