Bristol or ppsc?
I am trying to decide on which notes to purchase i am inclined at present to go for PPSC but noticed today in the messages quite a few people had purchased Bristol notes.I would appreciate any feedback on PPSC and anybody who has gone to Bristol what were your reasons for choosing them.

I bought a bunch of secondhand notes from someone, and had both the Bristol and PPSC ones for the navs. I found the PPSC ones completely incomprehensible for many things, while Bristol's notes were much clearer. This was for the CAA exams, but I don't suppose the JAR ones will be that different.

I used Bristol notes for Navs...they were spot on. Mates using "other" notes used mine to clarify issues. Bristols brush-up = full pass. Used PPSC notes for techs (Bristol had none) followed by Bristol brush-up....full pass. I think what I am saying is go for Bristol!

I must admit that I chose to go with Bristol as a direct result of feedback on PPRuNe.
I was looking at many distance learning providers for the ATPL theory. After getting in touch with all of them, I decided that Bristol was the best for many reasons, including the ones stated so far.
I guess the acid-test will be my exams this year!

I had a look at the Bristol Notes today and I was very impressed. They are very clear and make it easy to understand - also they are printed in colour which helps!
PPSC are fairly good to, however looking at both I would go for Bristol, they just seem to have the edge!

No experience of Bristol, but I did a distance learning PPL/IR course with PPSC last year.
The notes (particularly the air law) were a bit dry, and often needed clarification. However the support from the school was ALWAYS second to none, and the 5 day brush up course at the end of the DL course was excellent (and helped a great deal).
I passed all 7 PPL/IR exams... and surprised myself in so doing!
