Question Meeting the chief pilot - good or bad?

Hi all

Just applied for a job and went thru the tests, interview and a flight test. Now they have selected the final two and want us to meet the chief pilot.

is this to see how we get on with him and the company or is it more questions?

i am prepared for the questions but how about the personal stuff. obviously they want you to be yourself and relax but how relaxed? he said to me come up and visit and if you need to stay the night we can arrange a bed. stay and have a few beers.

if i stayed and had a few beers then i don't think i would get the job.

help please!!!

It sounds like you have pulled!!

Sorry, I'm only joking, good luck! I guess all he wants to do, is to get to know you.

Regards,

Homer

Sounds genuine to me... and if it isn't they may not be the sort of company you want to work for. Be respectful, be polite, but relax and be yourself. Don't be cajoled into drinking too much! Sounds like it's in the bag. Enjoy & good luck.

...Take some chocolates and and a bottle of wine

It sounds to me like you have met all the basic requirements for the job. Having been selected by the recruitment team the Chief Pilot now wants to make sure that you are the sort of person that isn't going to get on his tits when he has to sit next to you in a small confined space for 10 hours or more. If you are genuinely a nice pleasant chap (or chappess) you should have no problems.

regards

as previous posters have said - sounds like a good sign. I think you have the right idea - have a couple of beers, but know when enough is enough before it gets embarassing!

A lot of recruitment is done informally over a couple of beers in this industry. Go for it, and good luck!

Kavu - just looked at your profile - OK, so you're a wine drinker, so am I in private, but my advice is develop a taste for beer, regardless of gender! But as for the whips....
