Recent (F)ATPL? What are you doing now?
If you have recently obtained your Frozen ATPL, Have you been lucky with an Airline, Obtained an FIr and building hours, or out of work wishing you had saved yourself a fortune and not bothered???

Trying to keep the various banks off my back at the moment! However, even if I end up on the streets, homeless, I will never regret doing it because the pressure of never knowing years from now would be unbearable!

Got my CPL/IR in South Africa last November.
Just turned it into frozen ATPL by passing the ATPL exams.
Started a job flying on a King Air 200, for the United Nations, in deep dark Africa.
600 hours since January, all twin, turbine and multi-crew. Good experience for the airlines but I'm not sure if I want to go there yet !!
Cheers

Dirk,
Read your recent post about your new position with huge interest. You've
gone a route with your flying that I'd love to go down in that I too am not
that keen to jump straight (if ever) into the airlines. What I'd like to
know is where in SA did you do your CPL/IR? I guess it is JAR-recognised,
yes? Plus did you land the UN position partly because you were in Africa
anyway?
I am about to start my training and have been seriously looking at SA, so
your thoughts would be a real help.
Thanks

helo my good freinds in pprune land
whY dont you accept there are no jobs out there in EU. just realize that JAA have been succesful with there scam and you were very unlucky to fall for it. but how many times you fall for it is question. not only do you insist on doing all the JAA approved courses lik MCC but now you must go off with your JAA CPL/IR to the USA FOR MORE HOUR building beofre you get that job. then no job apears you must then start to save for that 737 type rating, perhaps hire a 737 for hours on type. WHen will IT all end?? THIS IS A BIg Scam. Top marks to the JAA, can i work for you. thankyou very much

Send me an email .. [email protected]
My license is a South African one and is therefore not recognised by the JAA. South Africa is an excellent place to learn to fly.. I did my training at 43 Air School in Port Alfred.
The companies that operate UN and similar contracts are mostly from SA so, yes, it helps to be here in order to find work !
Cheers

Dirk,
Have tried to email you on both your yahoo account and the one listed on this site, but both have been bounced back as undeliverable. Drop me a line to my pprune address so we can establish a link.
