How long is a piece of string?

Presumably if you have an FI rating you fly for free so the cost will be that of a 3 yearly test (£170 + hour and a half aircraft rate) or Seminar say (£250 + night accommodation). If you don't fly 100 hours in 3 years you will have to do both.

To renew an IR will cost you an hour and a half in an aeroplane plus a test fee £70 - £150 ish. Only you will know how much practice you need so you will have to add that. If you are not using the M/E IR you could save a bit by renewing on a S/E untill you need the M/E again.
