Post Airline Employment in USA for Aussie?

Just wondering if anyone out there knows if airlines in the US hire pilots other than American citizens?

I'm an Australian with an Australian CPL, ATPL theory and university degree.

Any info would be great.

Thanks in advance.

You need a green card to be employed by a US airline. Then get your US qaulifications(easy i believe) and you're set. Getting a green card is however difficult and costly(unless you marry an American). However if you do overcome this obstacle the opportunities are excellet in America- with relatively low hour pilots getting into regional airlines flying Metros/Saabs and the like!

Another question:
What about companys that fly over the US border. I have heard some companys have employed Aussies/foreiners and based them in Mexico for example. That means the green card thing is bypassed. If anyone knows the names of these companys please email me.

Also I am trying my luck with the green card lottery. Has anyone had any luck with this??
