GTS/old PPSC study guides
I'm thinking of going with GTS in Bournemouth for ATPL theory. The study packs they use are the old 'Click to PPSC' guides. Did anyone use PPSC before they went bust.... if so what were the study packs like ?? What were the instructors like ??
And who is Gail Longhurst ? GTS are keen to disassociate themselves with her.

I studied at PPSC in Bournemouth before they went under. The notes were generally very good, and if GTS comprise of the same lecturers then you won't go far wrong.
Gail Longhurst was the owner of PPSC and when they went bust they owed money to a lot of people, hence the reason for distancing themselves!
Good luck in your studies, it's hard work, but worth it.

Roger Henshaw, their CGI, is a good man, and reputedly ran PPSC very well. Being on the same airport, but specialising in slightly different areas, we have a very friendly rivalry with GTS. Of course we think we are better ( 
I'm sure you would disagree, Roger 
), but we can't yet offer distance learning so we are not competing for your business. I can say that the PPSC notes are good - one of the 4 sets I know of out their worth studying from.

However, this post is in self-defence and honest.
I was a PPSC senior tutor and am now a director of GTS. We use Click To PPSC notes under license; after all who do you think wrote them? It takes a long long time to write a comprehensive set of notes worthy of the ATPL and to get CAA approval. Furthermore, we do not plagiarise other peoples efforts.....
Mrs. Gail Longhurst has no association with our company. We owe no students any money, and furthermore we only ask for payments for our course in instalments.
I am sure that the moderator will remove this post, but I submit it in order to put the record straight from the horses mouth.

I and a lot of other people have a lot to thank you and your colleagues for in the past, if you're all trying to contribute again then all power to you. The business needs the competition!!

Quite right.....
Hope you do fantastically well David....
Im sat here still creasing my sides about one or two of your choice phrases, such as.......
" In my experience.....which is not inconsiderable"
and referring to an upward moving elevator "cows smaller...."
there are more, and once again thankyou sincerely for all your help back in 1999. I hope your venture is a success and pays you enough money for you to dump thae dodgy sweeney type 1970's v12 jag..........

By the way, the V12 was a 1987 Daimler, not a Jaguar, and it has gone to a good home. After all, 14 mpg and no salary = stupidity.
Question: In a standard V12 engine, if No.4 cylinder is at TDC,
where is the inlet valve of No.6? (remember, the smoothness of a V12 stems from the fact that a cylinder is on the power stroke every 120 degrees of crankshaft revolution).
