FlyFair - Resilient Pilot

I have been doing some research into flight schools and have come across FlyFair who are partnered with Resilient Pilot, the company founded during covid for pilots. FlyFair seems to be trying to break the mould with flight schools as they are run by airline pilots and are trying to reduce the financial barriers to flight training it seems very transparent and genuine. I know they are attending PCL this year too.

I know they are a fairly new company but with resilient pilot supporting them and partnering with their training, it seems to be a good scheme. Just getting everyone's thoughts?

I'd like to echo this as well, really curious to hear opinions on them as they recently did a strong talk at Pilot Careers Live earlier this month.

It is interesting. I'll say at the start that I am all in favour of competency-based assessment and evidence-based training. There is a difference, though, between an optimistic website and actually delivering the course described. I wish them well, but FlyFair's potential ability to do that has to be seen in the context of all the other integrated and modular ATOs trying to do more or less the same thing and ending up in varying degrees of chaos as they battle with shortages of aircraft, instructors and cash flow.

I have tried myself to map out training costs and discovered that when you arrive at a realistic total figure it doesn't sell well when compared to the headline costs advertised on other ATOs' websites. I think that FlyFair may have encountered the same issue. Their headline price is £65K but they say, quite properly, that there are another £10K of costs not included in that and that you should budget (can expect?) to pay up to 20% more if you don't complete in minimum time, which few do. That is £65K+£10K=£75K plus up to £15K extra = £90K, and now it looks very similar to other ATO's offerings, and this without any accommodation costs being included. Compare this to FTE Jerez, which is a 'gold-plated' option for integrated training, around £100K all-inclusive incl accomodation.

It would also be helpful if someone could explain the payment process. It seems to involve either £5K a month deposited into an account called a 'Deposit Protection Scheme Account' or, alternatively, pay-as-you go. I can't see why anyone would do anything other than pay-as-you-go. Is there some charging difference that would make giving more of your money to the ATO in advance a good idea?

Loving my flight training

I’ve had an amazing experience as a student at FlyFair so far. From day one, the entire staff has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. They genuinely take an interest in each student’s progress, which makes a huge difference—you never feel like just a number here. The instructors and support team are approachable, always ready to offer guidance, and truly invested in helping you succeed.

One thing that really stands out is the flexibility they offer. They understand that everyone has different schedules and circumstances, and they go out of their way to accommodate this, tailoring the training plan to fit your needs. It’s clear that the focus at FlyFair is on developing well-rounded pilots, and the level of personal attention you receive makes the experience even more rewarding.

Overall, it’s a fantastic place to train, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice to join FlyFair!

Perfect. Can you help me research? I can't find an address for FlyFair other than a shop occupied by a company called 'Ghost Mail', and they don't appear on the CAA list of ATOs/DTOs. Can you tell me where they fly from, please, and whether they plan to conduct the training themselves or to farm it out? I was assuming that they were in the pre-launch phase of their operation but, if you are actually training with them, they must have got further down the path.

Has anyone heard of FlyFair?

So I have heard of FlyFair online which is a UK based not for profit organisation that helps make your flight training cheaper supposedly (they say on their website they can get it down to 64,000 pounds from the usual 100-120k). I'm just curious how they do this exactly, and whether they are trust worthy?

FlyFair

They have a very slick and professional looking website, just no mention of aircraft that they own or use for training and no mention of where this supposed training takes place!

Saw these guys at pilot careers live. However nothing seems to quite add up. Has anyone ACTUALLY finished the scheme with them? They State "not for profit" but the fees they are charging seem high for this so called "inter-modular" scheme.

yes I went through FlyFair! All of the training was done in the uk. I actually want a job with a uk airline so avoided anywhere that offered Poland to train. I think the best way to think about their price and it’s the way I thought about it, it’s the best value as where the money needs to be spent they spend it.

Very happy with the training overall and the team at FlyFair go above and beyond. If you can find a place run by airline pilots and truly understands the industry like they do then crack on, but my money was well spent!

A shiny website with no actual substance. Reads like a scam.

Doesn't have the ATO number anywhere on the website, nor is it listed on the CAA ATO standards doc 31, updated last week. The website doesn't say what airfield they are based at or who they work with beyond some mentions of bucks new uni. Companies house has the directors all over the UK. The pricing is too good to be true compared to other providers.

The responses here offer no information and only go further to suggest it is a scam.

it’s not a scam, they have lots of students! They do something very similar to wings alliance except for their manage it and do some elements in house!

if you look at their social media you’ll see me and other students as they complete elements of the course

They are a training facilitator rather than provider so you wont see an ATO number for them.
