changing address on your PPL

Let's say I have a EASA PPL issued in a country different than that of my residence.

If I then move from my current place of residence to another country, I already know that I need to register the address change, what I don't know is if I have convert the PPL to that of that country.

E.g. if I leave for Spain do I need to convert my French PPL to a Spanish one or can I keep my French one without having a residence in France as long as my mailing address is up to date?

No, you don't need to change the SOLI based on the country where you reside. That would be ridiculous.
If you move to Spain just inform the French authority of your new address. That's it.

Any FAA licence address change is quite easy. You can do it online.
