Pilot Opportunities in the Uk
Hello everyone,
My name is Payande, I am a U.S citizen and I currently hold a valid and current FAA ATP + A320 family rating. I have 1600 hrs TT. I have 1200 hrs on multi-engine turbine airplanes ( C208B, BE20).
I have no hours on the A320 beside the sim.
I'm moving to the UK because of my wife's work and she's a Brit.
I would like to know whether there are possibilities in the UK to fly private jets registered in the US with my FAA certificate.
Furthermore, I have begun the process of transferring my license to a UK CAA license.
I checked their website, I'll have to write all the ATPL exams. If you guys have any app or website suggestions to study the question bank just like Sheppard air in the U.S, that will be much appreciated .
Also, for the practical test, I will have to do it in the Airbus. However, is it just gonna be a check ride with an examiner or do I have to go through an entire type rating again + the check ride ?
Does anyone know how much it will cost on average to rent an A320 sim + the examiner in the UK for a check-ride ?
Thank You

Look at an EASA licence as well, you can hold that without EU right to work which you won’t have. That way you can pay €30K to Ryanair for a job on the 737. In all honesty that’s the quickest and easiest way to get flying at the moment, particularly as you’re not eligible for FO positions anywhere yet.

Thanks for the response and advice. It's just a shame that I will have to go through a full type rating again. Flying is pretty much the same everywhere in the world. It's just a bureaucratic thing.
