Hour Building for EASA Licence in G Registered Aircraft

Not sure if anyone would know this but if I intend to get an EASA flight crew licence does the hour building section before commencing my ATPL/CPL flight training need to be done in an EASA aircraft or is it acceptable to be done in a G registered aircraft providing I then do my CPL in an EASA registered aircraft. Thanks for the help.
