Does EASA ATPL ground school expire?

Hello guys I couldn't find information about this topic before.
I Coursed ATPL ground school 14 subjects back in 2020 finishing around August.
After completing the test from the school. Back then CAA was closed and was opening couple months after closing again and so on, so I decided to postpone the examination.
Now I wanted to return and do the exams and get my certificate from the Academy and they said It might expired as I didn't started the exams after 1 year from finish gorund school. I tried to find info but didn't manage to get any clear answer.

No one in the academy told me about that before.when I asked my instructor back then he told me as it is knowledge how is it going to expire.
Now the academy tells me that I should not trust just one person and find out by myself.

The Academy office told me this:
since you started ATPL you have 18 months to get all ATO certificates, then 12 months to start at least one exam.

Is it true or is just another flying academy trying to make money out of their students.

Thank you.

You have 18 months to complete the exams from when you take your first exam. The ATO's authority for you to sit the exams (their declaration that you have completed the course) lasts 12 months, but can be renewed. It is not true that you have to start at least one exam within 12months, but it would be unusual not to do so.

Thank you for your quick reply, I will try to get more info about how it can be renewed ( money or classes) as now I am doing the new subject Knowledge Skills and Attitude.
