Best place around LHR to commence PPL?

Being kinda new to all this, can anyone recommend any flying schools in and around the LHR area to commence my PPL?

You've got a fair choice around west London;

Blackbushe, European Flyers 01252 873747 and Cabair (tel [phone]?).

Fairoaks, Alan mann aviation (tel ?).

White Waltham, WLAC (tel ?)

Wycombe Air park, WAC 01494 443737, BAFC 01494 529262

There's also a flying training exhibition next weekend at The commonwealth inst (see www.flyer.co.uk for details).

I'm sure others will add their views/recommendations.

There's The Pilot Centre at Denham inside the LHR zone good flying good club call them on 07895-833838

I think you mean 01895 instead of 07895!!!
Or you can try Cabair on the other side of the runway!

Eny of the above clubs would be ok apart from cabair,my wife was ripped off by them some years back.

I can however recomend both clubs at booker (BAFC and WAC) and WLAC at white waltham.

I did my first few hours at The Pilot Centre - Denham, before going stateside to finish the PPL. Was definately the best value around the London area at £100 dual C152 if you open an account with them.
Received excellent instruction and was a small, very friendly place to be!
Fairoaks and Blackbush definately the most expensive in the area.
