How would you visit flight schools from abroad ?
The thing is, I live far enough for flights to EU to be expensive, so how do I 'visit' flight schools (as is common sense and is advised by basically everyone) that I am interested in / I like their pricing / heard they're good ?
How would you go about it ? Fly for 2-3 days to country X, visit several schools in a not too large of a radius (half a day's train ride max, i would say, because you also want to get back) go back, review intel, go again to country Y same strat ?
Personally I think its a waste of time and money, both resources are a priority for the PPL itself. So, take a calculated risk, rely on online people that have been to the specific school, reviews and email conversations, and come in on blind ? is that the new millennia way ?

I'm guessing if you need to travel for at least 2 days to get into Europe you don't live close? So if you live that far away why do you want an EASA licence?
USA is cheaper and probably quicker than EASA.

What he said. And, as an expat currently employed out of EU soil, I can tell you that managing an EASA license can be nightmarish if one is travel restricted. I also hold a FAA license but I never found the time to update it to an ATP and endorse my current TR, and boy I am regretting it now...
Go for the FAA or, at the very least, go to a flight school that will give you both.

Thank you both.
I meant, that I think it would be wise to travel to europe for a minimum of 2 days, in order to visit the flight school(s) properly. I don't know how long such a visit could take. Maybe a compensated 30 min flight with FI ?
I am not that geographically far, but where I live its quite expensive to fly to Europe.. and it will quickly add up if I start flying for short durations to random countries in my searches

I think your tough is wise. There is no need to see school if you are sure they are not scammers and they have good comments for PPL. I can suggest you Hungary for PPL. You can check Rivair ( they are one of well known school in Hu) or Noirair ( they are new school but they want to grow up, so they it serious. One of the cheapest in Europe). Training lasts around 35-45 days on both school.
