738 Type rating

Hi, I will shortly be starting 737-800 type rating, any recommendations for Manuals, Apps, Guides, Handbooks etc to assist both during the type rating and once in the aircraft.

Many thanks.

My observations are that not all companies grant access to their manuals to newly appointed staff as early as the type rating stage. It could be that you'll only get your hands on the company documentation once you've passed the type rating and you're starting the operator conversion training. However, as long as you're a trainee, the ATO has to provide you with all relevant documents. Perhaps there will be some self-study part to the course before you start the face-to-face part in the training centre. Most often, that's in the form of a CBT. Drop an email to your ATO and ask for details, that's what I would do.

Yeah I’ll get access to company manuals shortly so will make good use of those during type rating.
Few guides I’ve been told about so far are that can be handy reference and provide more in-depth detail:
Petr Smejkal - 737 handbook
MRG management ref guide

Anything else anyone uses that is a good reference/go to guide for technical/non normal?

Dear Sparky, firstly I suggest you tu use FS2020 with the B738 config...it's could be very helpfully in the first step at home; there're many APPS and YouTube guides too...but, as suggested before by PilotLZ, your ATO must send you all the study package to be prepared at the best! You pay for this!
