easyJet Interviews
I've got to jump through the hoops in a couple of weeks and was wondering what sort of things I needed to read up on for the Tech Quiz.
Answers on a postcard please to the usual address....
Cheers!

Question for you Tangerine Kid,
How did you get the interview? When did you apply? and what is your experience?
(ok, three questions)
I sent my online form three months ago and gave them an update last week and have heard nothing. Just wondered if you had any info on how the system works...

easyJet interview: just think psychometric bulls@it and you will be o.k.
Pretend eJ are the only airline you have ever flown with or wanted to work for. That will get you the job. Massage their egos and kiss arse a bit and you will be in before the end of the interview.
Disregard that they will work you like a dog, for a mediocre package and your life will be Nirvana.
Basically, just be willing to be brain washed. Then you will be fine.
Farce.

Very constructive and helpful, Tailscrape, thank you.. .If you have some criticism of EZ's interview procedure, perhaps you'd be kind enough not to be so cryptic and explain in words we can all understand what it is you found unsatisfactory, for what reason, and what experience you have to back up your judgement?. .Or should we just assume that you failed to get a job and have a chip on your shoulder?

Scroggs,
This is a forum for opinions on many subjects. It is my opinion, having been to easyland for interview, that quite frankly they are not all that.
Constructive or not. That is my opinion. I am entitled to express it here or anywhere I like. As long as it is not defamatory. Which I don't think my post was.
Like you Scroggs, I fly for an upper quartile outfit.
I was unimpressed with easyjet's attitude towards the candidate. All discussions were TOTALLY based on how good they were or are. Maybe they are. I jusr didn't think so.
They had no interest in the individual at all as a person. Only if you can fit into some mould. I am not into that, as it stifles people.
If you are orange, then great. If you are not (like me) then I hazard a guess that you would be unimpressed too.
The package is distinctly average, not as good as they suggest.....
Maybe it was a clash of personalities that went on for me, however it has tainted my view of what I thought may be a decent outfit to work for.
I am sure it suits some, but it doesn't suit me.
Any outfit who have clauses in your contract about industrial action..........if that is true, well I rest my case........you will be signing up for a world of pain if you accept stipulations like that.
The picture painted is one of all free BBQ's and parties. I however think in the future it will not all be beer and skittles. There will be pains in ej and I didn't like the idea of it. Huge expansion etc, without pain and grief? Never been done before. Let's hope they get it right this time then....
Scroggs, you are right. I didn't get the job. I didn't fit in. I am not worried about that, because it would have not worked out. But fitting in is a two way thing. They didn't fit my aspirations either.
This you see my dear Scroggs is the beauty of free speech.
How are things in VS now? I hope they have straightened out a bit and that things are looking good for the future.
I am afraid I have been spoiled. Once you have worked for an outfit who treat you well, you rather imagine that everyone does the same. Not the case though I think.....
Sorry, I forgot to add the THREE year bond for a large sum of money.......and the fact that I was told I would be interviewed for a London base. Not Scotland! In all, it was a waste of a day and diesel for me. Sorry to be so bleak and glum guys.
If it suits you, go for it. I am sure you will be just fine. They at least will not be bust tomorrow. Of that I am fairly sure.
Good luck.

Tailscrape,
Why do you continue to slag EZY at every chance you get and on any forum the subject comes up. I accept what you say, and that you admit to perhaps 'not being what they are looking for' but if your current employee is so great ....WHY waste everyone's time ( including your own )going through the application process?

Nice Beaver,
I never applied to eJ. I am not going to divulge how the interview came about, except that it was at short notice. Very short notice.
I never said my employers were great. They are just different and more to my taste than eJ.
I should with hindsight have never gone for the interview.
They are definitely better than nothing as is anything. But, the rather supercilious attitude displayed by some of the gang there was not so clever.
However, I will balance that by saying that some of the other guys from the line who popped in were lovely blokes. All the best to them.
I just wish they could stop the orange throat ramming techniques at every turn.
If you want to work for them, go for it I am sure you will have a rewarding career with them.

Get a grip Tailscrape! You know as well as I do that easyJet's package is financially better than ours!! Another thing, tell me what exactly is so great about our present employer at the moment? If easyJet was so bad how come we are losing guys to them at an ever increasing rate?!. .Eff Oh.

Eff Oh,
Off you go then mate. Get out the door and ease some of our issues if you are so keen. You will see what I mean when you get there. Seeing as they are starting up in LGW you should be fine mate.
The orange technique: exactly that: a method of sexual gratification in cupboards used by (allegedly) Tory MP's!!

Tailscrape, if you knew so much about easyJet then you would know that they have, and are expanding GLA and EDI bases!
Can I take it from your post that you were in favour of the redundencys, base closeures and demotions then?
BTW. I'm not going anywhere.....YET! Sorry mate!

Eff Oh,
No I was not in favour of any of the demotions, redundancies , closures etc.
I am still affected by redundancy, so I hardly think I would want my own job to go. Would I?
I just did not like eJ or the attitude of a lot of people there. Sorry but there we go.
Personally eff oh, I don't care whether you are staying or going. But if jmc is so awful as you say, why don't you go to eJ? They have the base you are at and you seem keen.....
But then again, like me you probably know that the long term grass is greener in TCUK than it is in the "kebab van".
Regards.

Tailscrape - still all bitter and twisted and not grown up yet I see.
As before I somewhat suspect that your attitude wasn't very appreciated at orange HQ either.
We've been though all this before; settle down , keep quiet and watch those more experienced than you, learn and don't apply for jobs unless you want them (that last bit is because of the inevitable 'I went to the easy interview but I didn't really want the job' bit which I suspect is coming).

Calm down, please, chaps. Tailscrape and Ef Oh, your somewhat oublic disagreement isn't really helping those chaps that want to learn about EZ's interview procedure. If you want to have a discussion about events in your airline, please take it elsewhere - I'm sure you can find somewhere more appropriate!. .As for the validity of anyone's opinions, as I've said before, this board is not bound by any principles of free speech! It is a private bulletin board, and we can object to (and censor) anything we bloody well like - or rather, don't like.. .Perhaps I can say that a little less provocatively... you may well have reason to dislike a particular person, organisation or whatever, but unless you explain your reasons (clearly and unemotionally), your opinion will carry little weight, and may well detract from the overall topic at hand. So please think before you apply finger(s) to keyboard, and remember that people here genuinely want to know what you think about the topic in question and why.. .Cheers.

Probably not helpful at all but if possible try and get some copies of the Airline show featuring Easy, sure they have shown interviews and some games etc and a small insight into exactly what they are looking for, and one of the things I definitely remember is the words "fit into the orange way" now obviously a lot of that is marketing etc but it worth a try.
All I can say is best of luck, and go for it. And all us wannabes without licenses at the moment are very envious
