Convering FAA or Canadian ATPL into EASA

Hi,

I know, old topic but a lot of threads are old too and I would like to have the latest and greatest.

So I hold both FAA and Canadian ATPL and I like to get an EASA ATPL. What is the cheapest and moost efficient way to do this?

Regards,

Acheo

The threads are old because it hasn't changed. There is so much information on the net it's mind boggling.

Unless you have 1000 hours PIC on aircraft that require two pilots you will need an ATO for the 14 exams. If so you will get a reduction in required study hours.

I believe if you've got a full ATPL and type rating you can self-certify to take the exams. Provided you've got a multi crew type rating with 500 hours on type you can take the skills test in that type, and get a full ATPL and TR at the same time.
